From our first meeting we knew instantly that we wanted Maureen to perform our ceremony due to her professional, friendly and welcoming nature. She helped us in this short period of time to create a very personalised and meaningful ceremony. Maureen was very helpful whenever we contacted her with any questions and she made sure that everything was ready on time. On the day, Maureen delivered a very emotional and relaxed ceremony. Maureen conducted our wedding ceremony last month, and honestly I can tell you everything was perfect. We had a very... small ceremony with friends only, and Maureen came up with the idea of arranging letters from our parents to be read out on the day, keeping the details of the letters a secret and making sure our friends (who read them) had copies in advance. Maureen coordinated all of this and it made the ceremony even more meaningful and emotional on the day. I was feeling quite nervous the morning of the ceremony, and as soon as Maureen arrived she put me at ease, her rucksack of supplies coming up with the goods! 2 rescue remedy pastilles and a glass of prosecco later and I was ready :) Going back to when we first got in touch with Maureen, we were a little apprehensive. Neither of us were sure what to expect and a zoom call with someone you don't know can sometimes be a little awkward. Well we didn't need to worry, Maureen put us at ease straight away and from that meeting onward Maureen felt like part of the team. I will forever be grateful to Maureen for her part in our wedding. I first saw Maureen do her thing at a friend’s wedding a couple of years ago. I knew then that I wanted her to conduct... my own wedding. Our wedding was originally schedule for October 2020 but had to be postponed due to Covid. We managed to rearrange for December 2020 and luckily Maureen was available! Maureen bent over backwards to help us and was very patient with us as we changed our plans (more than once) and tried to make the best of the changing restrictions. The wedding couldn’t have gone better and all of our guests commented on how great Maureen was and how personal she made the ceremony. Sadly Maureen also recently conducted the service for my uncle’s funeral. Maureen worked with the family to make the service as personal as possible in the same way as she did for our wedding. Full... of expert knowledge and experience, she was able to advise and talk us through everything that we had in mind for our ceremony step by step. She also suggested new and exciting ideas that we hadn't thought of before for example, handfasting (which later featured in our ceremony!) Writing our ceremony seemed daunting but Maureen made the whole process a breeze. Not only did she listen carefully and took genuine interest in our story and all our wee quirks, but she asked us questions that brought out the best of our story as a couple ❤ Maureen was so organised and regularly kept in touch with us regarding ceremony drafts and reminders of submitting paperwork in order for the legal side of things to get done too. Both through email, zoom and of course in person before lockdown. Covid certainly put a strain on 2020 however, with a new wedding date, new bridesmaid arrangements and new witnesses due to restrictions, Maureen was not phased at all. She took it all in her stride and nothing was ever too much to change or alter due to circumstances. On our wedding day, we could not sing Maureen's praises enough! She arrived well in advance, which put my now husband at ease, and was excellent during the ceremony. Friendly, welcoming, efficient and always smiling. We first met Maureen at a local wedding fair. My partner wanted a humanist wedding but I knew nothing about this type... of ceremony. Maureen was brilliant and took time explaining the type of ceremony they could offer us. She showed us all the different symbols they used to represent marriage. After meeting her I changed my mind and we decided to have a humanist ceremony. I told my partner that I really wanted Maureen as our celebrant as she had come across not only extremely informative but also very warm and caring. Luckily she was available on the date of our wedding. Maureen welcomed us into her home on 2 occasions and helped us to prepare for the biggest day of our lives. She kept in regular contact and ensured that we got all paperwork completed on time. We felt really supported by her which was a massive help at a stressful time. On the day of the wedding she was just brilliant. She had a calming effect on me and was also interacting with my friends and family who also commented on how lovely she was. She made sure everything ran smoothly. The ceremony she provided was emotional and just perfect in our eyes. I loved the small extras like glasses of water for us, she offered tissues for the tears and provided other things like fountain pen with no ink to prevent smudging during photos. From the very start she... was professional, insightful and her cheery nature was infectious, putting us both at ease. We are now 2 weeks after our wedding and our guests are still talking about how special our ceremony was. Our ceremony was incredibly personal to us, we wrote our own vows which were left as a surprise to each other until the day and this wouldnt have been possible without Maureen's help and guidance. Getting married can be very stressful, lots of things to worry about and some suppliers let you down on the way. However, from the beginning there was one thing (the most important thing!) that we had 100% confidence in and that was our wedding ceremony conducted by Maureen. She is incredibly committed to her line of work and clearly enjoys it which really comes across. Maureen was easily contactable and always replied very promptly to any question. Anyway, to summarise, thank you so much Maureen for giving us such a beautiful and personalised ceremony that we will both treasure for the rest of our lives. Many of our guests commented on how wonderful the ceremony was, some saying that it was the best wedding ceremony they had ever been to. You can't get better praise than that! From initial booking right up to the ceremony, you provided us with useful direction (about when we should apply for the marriage lines, examples of vows and promises for putting the ceremony together etc) and you were very quick at responding if we had any queries.
